My Projects

I have some experience with both Puppet style and Traditional 2D animation

This is an animation I made for an assignment. I created all the visual assets in Illustrator and animated them in Adobe Animate CC. This was the first animation I had made in Animate that was over ten seconds. It is rough around the edges, and I could definitely do better now, but I am proud of what I managed to accomplish. I found all my sound effects and music on Pixabay.

This is an animatic I made for an assignment. I was first tasked with creating a storyboard; after my instructor looked over my storyboard, he gave me some advice on how to improve it. After implementing his advice, I brought the storyboard panels into Adobe Premiere Pro; I adjusted the duration of each panel, timing out my animatic. I found all the sound effects on Pixabay except for the voice lines; I recorded the voice lines in Adobe Audition.

Below is some concept art for the dragons and characters, as well as some pages from my storyboard.

Here is the concept art I still have of the dragon in my Dragon Hunt animatic. I wanted the dragon to be intimidating, alien, and creepy, so I decided an Amphiptere (a type of winged serpent) seemed like a great choice. I also decided to pull from prehistoric creatures such as the Plesiosaurs; the needle teeth are unsettling but plausible. I also decided to give it creepy, soulless eyes, like some types of abyssal fish. In my head, this is some type of fish-eating Amphiptere (a type of winged serpent) that wandered up onto land due to scarce food; it found its way to the character's trap due to the end of the cow circus.

I do not own this song; you should listen to the original.

This was for a college assignment. I created the Spartan and the background in Adobe Illustrator; I animated the Spartan in Adobe Animate CC, and I put them together in Adobe After Effects to achieve a parallax panning effect. Below, you can find a character design sheet and a turnaround.

This animation was for a college assignment. I was tasked with creating a bouncing ball with some kind of follow-through item, like a cape or tail. The ball could either bounce across the screen or just bounce up and down. I decided to animate the ball bouncing across the screen because I believed the cape would look better that way. I also thought it would be more of a challenge, allowing me to better myself.

This animation was for a college assignment. I was tasked with creating a flour sack animation. The flour sack needed to do some action, like jumping, and then another action. I decided to animate the flour sack jumping as suggested, but I desired to have my flour sack fish for my secondary action. I thought it would be a fun challenge to animate the fishing pole and line. I believe I did a good job on it.

This animation was for a college assignment. I was tasked with animating a camera move. First, we had to make a storyboard, have our instructor review and critique it, and then animate it. I animated a zoom-out and then a pan-right.

This animation was for a college assignment. I was tasked with creating an animation that simulated gameplay. We were provided an un-parented, un-rigged Animate CC character. We were told to animate a walk cycle, ideal animating, attack, jump, and some kind of secondary attack or block. I only wish I had added sound. I might go back and fix that in the future.

This animation was for a college assignment. I was tasked with creating an animation of a "Teacher" character. I had to create three different character designs for our instructor to view and critique. After I got his feedback, I moved on to animating the "Teacher" character. I built the "Teacher" character, background, and foreground characters in Adobe Illustrator, animated her in Animate CC, and composited it all in After Effects. The goal was to create a character that would appeal to children and hypothetically be used in educational animations, similar to many of PBS Kids' shows.
